These brackets are sold in pairs. OEM bushings are recommended for most drivers since they require no maintenance—polyurethane or OEM bushings both work, but poly bushings need to be greased regularly.

Purpose

The DR KDSS bushing bracket is a game changer for the 4Runner’s KDSS sway bar system. Its primary function is to allow for adjustment of the bushing angle. On a lifted 4Runner, once you hit around 2 inches of lift, the sway bar begins to interface at the wrong angle with the outer bushing. This creates binding, adding resistance during suspension travel. With this bracket installed, the angle is corrected, eliminating bind and restoring smooth operation.

Use With Adapters

Another way to run this bracket is combined with the DR KDSS billet adapters. The adapters correct severe bushing angles and allow full droop with extended-travel shocks. Normally, if you use adapters with the OEM bracket, you have to cut off the hooks to make it fit. With the DR KDSS bracket, no modification is needed, and you can fine-tune the angle to remove any “over-clocking” created by running low ride height with adapters.

Alternative Scenarios

If you’re already committed to a front KDSS drop spacer and don’t want to switch to adapters, this bracket can still help. Drop spacers push the sway bar down and forward, but with this bracket you can at least correct the bushing angle.

Even in a completely OEM setup with no lift, this bracket is useful. Thanks to its long slotted radius mounting hole, it makes sway bar removal and reinstallation much easier during maintenance.

These brackets come in multiple color options, allowing for a personalized look on your front end. Note: Gold is the most difficult color to coat consistently, and may vary between orange-gold and yellow-gold depending on powder coat process.
