KC HiLiTES just launched the Platform One roof rack system for the 4Runner, and it’s available for both the 5th Gen (2010–2024) and the new 6th Gen (2025+). This release gave us one of the most unique rack systems we’ve seen in a long time.
The Platform One is more than just a place to keep extra gear. KC designed it as a complete system with integrated Power-Ready wiring channels. These hidden channels allow you to run wiring for lights, solar, and accessories inside the rack itself. The result is a clean, factory-level install with no zip ties or exposed wires.
For those who want lighting right out of the box, they offer bundles that make the rack ready for four 10” SideCast lights. This level of integration is something the industry has been missing, and KC delivered it in a package that’s simple and effective.
Fitment is also completely vehicle-specific. The Platform One bolts to factory mounting points with no drilling required. It maintains a sturdy design that give it strength to handle rooftop tents, recovery gear, and full overland setups.
KC also includes blackout plates for the side openings, so if you don’t plan to run lights there, the rack still looks finished and clean. Everything about the system feels intentional and designed to solve the common problems of running a traditional roof rack with accessories.
